This original botanical art print features pressed horsetail (Equisetum arvense). It was created from a high resolution scanned image of the real pressed plant, which I collected in the forests of northwestern Montana. Printed on carefully sourced fine art paper with vibrant archival inks to capture the finest details.
Equisetum is amongst the oldest classes of plants in existence. It typically grows in moist sites, and is present on all continents except Antarctica. The common name "horsetail" arose due to the plant's resemblance to a horse's tail.
