This lovely print features a pressed Giant Chain Fern (Woodwardia fimbriata) frond. Created from a high resolution scanned image, and printed with archival inks on carefully sourced fine art paper to capture the feel of the real pressed plant. Original specimen was collected in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains in northern California, near Lake Tahoe. Woodwardia fimbriata is a beautiful and striking fern which is native to forests of California, Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia. It is easily recognizable by its size - fronds are 1 - 3 meters long.
